TRIAXIAL ACCELEROMETER
SUPERTRAX is a high accuracy, rugged and compact three-axis
force balance accelerometer designed to provide a replacement for
the three single axis units.
The use of silicon oil as a damping medium is largely responsible
for the robust design of SUPERTRAX. Typical applications are in
borehole and utilities surveying systems, platform levelling and
general inclination measurement systems.
Key features of SUPERTRAX are its high shock and high
temperature survival capability, which permit the design of borehole
survey instruments capable of transportation and use in the most
severe conditions without damage or loss of calibration.
SUPERTRAX can replace quartz beam accelerometer triads
and provide a simple, more rugged and cost effective system.
RSS Steering Tool (RST)
The Non-Articulated Steering Solution
The RST represents the next generation of oilfield steering
instrument. Measuring just 1" diameter and 24" long, it incorporates
the very latest RSS sensor technology, which benefits from our
years of oilfield equipment design experience. The RST offers
many advantages for borehole measurement in drilling applications,
including slimhole and short radius drilling, as it does not require
articulation.
The instrument contains a three axis RSS TRAX accelerometer
and three magnetometers to provide triaxial all angle measurement
capability while drilling. The unit also contains integral analog to
digital conversion and processing electronics which provide
calibrated data outputs downhole for each sensor, alleviating the
need for customers to carry out sensor calibration on surface.
ADVANCED MINIATURE MULTISHOT TOOL MMT
The RSS Miniature Multishot Tool (MMT) represents the next
generation of open-hole (drill pipe) survey instruments, offering
small size (1") and extended operational performance over
conventional electronic multishot products. The MMT provides
definitive survey information, corrected for magnetic interference
from the drilling assembly, before you case the well, in time to make
any directional course corrections.
The MMT incorporates high reliability RSS MWD sensor
technology and provides accuracies comparable to the most
advanced gyroscopic survey systems. It has low capital and
operating costs and is easy to use. It can also operate as a
multishot, single-shot or core orientation instrument.
DIGITAL MEASUREMENT UNIT (DMU)
The Digital Measurement Unit (DMU) has been designed to provide
low cost high accuracy
directional measurements under extremes of temperature, shock
and vibration.
The module incorporates high reliability RSS sensor technology,
which has been custom designed for borehole applications and pro-
vides a small diameter (1"), high accuracy MWD measurement
package for OEM applications.
NATURAL GAMMA MODULE (NGM)
The Natural Gamma Module (NGM) has been developed to
complement its highly successful range of slimhole directional
measurement instruments. The probe has the same 1" OD as the
RSS directional probe and can be placed above or below the
directional measurement unit (DMU), within in a standard NMDC.
The addition of NGM provides directional drillers with readily
available target identification information for tighter control, allowing
earlier (easier and less costly) corrections to be made.
