The BlackBox Downhole Dynamics Recorder monitors the behavior of the drillstring, drive system and downhole tools by taking high-frequency measurements during the drilling process for post well analysis. At just 2¾” in diameter, BlackBox’s compact design allows multiple placements along the drillstring.
The V-Stab® tool, NOV Downhole’s revolutionary approach to drillstring vibration damping, is an eccentric tool that encourages Forward Synchronous Whirl of the drillstring. This motion is very smooth and thus dramatically reduces the magnitude shocks that occur during drilling, reliably minimizing damaging vibrations, maximizing ROP and increasing bit life.
