Since the earliest days of drilling, the historical record has helped provide a clearer path to the future, whether it be the next tour or the next well. M/D Totco NOV was there in the beginning with recorders that evolved from from the original "tattle-tale" of the drilling pioneer days to the essential information and analysis tools of today's modern drilling programs.
The M/D Totco drilling recorder models of today provide a permanent and instantaneous record of up to 8 basic drilling parameters. All M/D Totco drilling recorders are designed to be compatible with standard M/D Totco instrument systems and receive input from our conventional pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical sensors.
Drift recorders provide a means for controlled vertical drilling; a technique by which the plumb bob tendency and natural forces inherent in the rotary drilling process are so controlled that the drill bit is directed within confined limits of a predetermined vertical course. M/D Totco drift instruments have been the standard of the industry for over 70 years.
