National Oilwell Varco's Mission 1780 Type "W" centrifugal pumps were utilized on the first low pressure mud system constructed in the early 1950's. Their concentric casing long life design has virtually eliminated the high pressure duplex mud mixing system and has allowed operators to reduce their initial and operating costs. Mission pumps were not only used on the first low pressure mud system but became and remain the leading pump of choice by drilling contractors around the world.

This creates a smooth flow pattern that is essential when handling abrasive fluids. The semi-open impeller design reduces stuffing box pressure and extends the wear plate and packing life.
