National Oilwell Varco’s (NOV) Portable Power specialise in the hire of diesel driven generators and associated equipment. Operating from and headquartered in Aberdeen, NOV Portable Power provides a complete service from design through to commissioning and operation of complete power packages.
The capital sales division can supply standard off the shelf generators or project specific custom built generator. Portable Power UK offers a full spectrum from engineering, design, fabrication and assembly, all the way to Factory Acceptance Testing.
The rental fleet consists of more complex Hazardous Area Generators, otherwise known as “Zone 2 Generators”. Units are designed and manufactured to meet DNV requirements and/or NOROSK standards. Systems are provided with full pressurization fire and gas detection, including inergen fire extinguishers. Design, manufacture and commissioning of equipment can also include transformers and switchboards to complete the Hazardous area power package.
The Service Division offers maintenance contracts for customer owned generators 24/7. These contracts can be six monthly inspection and basic checks up to a full annual service, including supplying and fitting replacement manufacturer’s parts.
