ADVANCING SOLIDS CONTROL WITH DUAL MOTION CAPABILITY

National Oilwell Varco's Brandt® King Cobra® Plus shaker utilizes four pretension screens and offers linear or tuned elliptical motion, at the “flip of a switch,” for removing detrimental drilled solids from the mud system. This allows the King Cobra + to minimize mud losses while enhancing cutting dryness. Maintenance on the King Cobra Plus is minimal and only a small inventory of replacement parts is necessary to sustain optimal operation. Additionally, the shaker’s rugged design offers years of reliable operation.

VFD G-Force Controller

OPTIMIZED SEPARATION EFFICIENCY THROUGH FLEXIBILITY, HIGH PERFORMANCE AND EASY OPERATION
The Brandt® Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) G-Force Controller affords customers the opportunity to manage shale shaker performance and screen life based on cuttings loading. By selecting one of the three settings (NORM, HIGH or MAX), operators are able to manage light to heavy cuttings loading on the shaker bed while reducing screen usage. The VFD utilized is simple, rugged and capable of being outfitted to new, or retrofitted to existing, King Cobra, King Cobra + and LCM-3D shale shakers.

Each of the three settings change the G-forces generated on the shaker bed. When drilling the top hole section with fast penetration rates (maximum screen loading), the MAX setting should be selected to efficiently remove solids from the drilling fluid (mud). In the intermediate hole section, the HIGH setting should be employed, while in the slow-drilling, bottom hole section, the NORM setting should be utilized.

Settings may be adjusted while the shaker is in operation, thus giving the user the flexibility to adapt to changing drilling conditions without interrupting operations. This provides the operator more control over shaker performance and screen life. Varying the G-forces exerted on the shaker bed allows screen life to be extended by reducing the G’s as hole size and solids loading lessen.
