A DIRECT RESPONSE TO RECOMMENDATIONS AND SUGGESTIONS FROM CUSTOMERS
The development and introduction of National Oilwell Varco's Brandt® King Cobra® Venom shale shaker is a direct response to the recommendations and suggestions from customers. This new shaker employs many of the field-proven technologies of the previous King Cobra shaker line, while adding new technologies, designs and options.
The King Cobra Venom with its reduced dimensions and weight - including a 34.5-inch (876 mm) weir height with a 12-inch (305 mm) sump/skid - is able to be installed on a wider range of rigs in the market. This provides a direct benefit to customers who may have been previously excluded due to the dimensions and weight.
A new modular design and standardized platform allows the customer to pick and choose options that best fit their needs. Additionally, the modular design of the King Cobra Venom allows units to be upgraded with different options in the field, regardless of how the shaker was originally configured from the factory. Field-upgradeability provides the user with a great deal of flexibility in situations of changing needs.
The King Cobra Venom is offered with a variety of options. These options can be ordered when the shaker is first purchased or can be ordered and installed on units in the field.
In addition to these optional features, several other aspects of the King Cobra Venom have been researched, tested and improved upon. For instance, a new epoxy and glass flake paint system was developed that will provide the shaker with unparalleled corrosion resistance and life.
Also, a new front-installation screen wedge design has been implemented that provides users easy access to, and installation of, the screen wedges. A pry bar installation of the screen wedges eliminates hammer damage of the screens and sidewall paint of the shaker basket. A redesigned basket, which utilizes new Brandt VNM screens, eliminates the need to crown rubbers, which, in turn, eliminates the need for the user to purchase replacements. Furthermore, a pushbutton (pneumatic) single-point deck angle adjustment is now a standard feature on the King Cobra Venom.
