National Oilwell Varco’s Mission Blak-JAK HydrA-LIGN Piston Rod Assembly is designed to reduce operational risk exposure and improve risk environments during change-outs of high use fluid end expendable parts. Additional value is realized through design features that allow self aligning capabilities between the pump liner and piston which positively affect run times of expendables and reduce downtime.
The Mission Blak-JAK HydrA-LIGN piston rod assembly consists of three simple components: the piston rod, which is machined from alloy steel for added strength, the cross head extension rod, which has coated wear surfaces for extended run times and corrosion resistance, and the hydraulic sub rod, which is manufactured from high grade, heat treated stainless steel.
The Blak-JAK HydrA-LIGN sub rod has self-aligning capabilities which allow for 0.060” of correction in any one direction, or 0.120” total correction. This feature extends the life of other mud pump expendables and its positive effects can be seen all the way back through the power end of the pump. Piston change-out times can be reduced as much as 75% on some pump models.
No heavy hammers or special tools are required. The only tool requirement is a hydraulic porta-power hand pumped equipped with an external gauge.
No pump alterations are required for installing and operating the Blak-JAK HydrA-LIGN rod.
