NOV's Corlacâ„¢ Variable Frequency Drive (VFD), with new state of the art software.

Features and Benefits:

  • Eliminates excessive rod force
  • Reduces power consumption
  • Dynamic braking for exact speed control
  • Uses pump fill algorithms to optimize production
  • Minimizes equipment wear
  • Maximum torque at zero speed (no need for high slip motors)
  • Independent up and down stroke speeds to maximize pump fill
  • Pump Off control with restart timer
  • Generate Dynaâ„¢ cards
  • No load cell to calibrate
  • Sensorless bridle separation control
  • Continuously computes pump fill
  • Exact pumping unit counter balance program
  • Includes both RTU and ANSII communication protocol
  • Uses only premium efficient motors (getting the load started is no problem)

Communication Software

Software labeled DRIVE LINKâ„¢ has been developed as a communication link from a computer to the field. This software is designed as a look program, troubleshooting software. It is used to look at the well from off site and check well status like speed, torque, amps, and make adjustments to setting via the software program. Communication can be by phone (cell or landline) or radio, linked to the serial port of the drive.

Corpacâ„¢ Software

Corpacâ„¢ is a VFD designed with software for the oil industry. The flux vector technology provides full torque even at extremely slow speeds. Many conditions in conventional pumping units are suited to changing pumping speeds:

  • Steam injection
  • Sanding conditions
  • Changing reservoir conditions
  • High water cut wells

Corpacâ„¢ will operate from 230, 380, 460, or 575 volts from 50/60 Hz. A model is also available for single phase to three-phase operation.

Corpacâ„¢ has a proven record in reducing energy consumption with recorded results of over 50% power reduction. Its programmable logic controller allows on board programming in Ladder Diagram screens, Function Block screens, and Input/Output screens.

The beam pump software allows the user to run in three different operational modes:

  • Single Speed - In Single Speed mode, the user sets one speed for up/down stroke. This speed is set with speed pots from the operator controls.
  • Dual speed - In this mode, it operates with an up speed pot and a down speed pot. This allows for up/down speeds to be set independent of each other.
  • Optimize - If set to Optimize, the software decides the up/down speeds by looking at pump fill on every stroke, then adjusts the speed to match the fill.
