Hawk Test System: XLD Test System
The NOV Tubscope original line of test units were comprised of two lines of equipment, the Hawk system and the XLD lineup. Both styles have unique characteristics suited for specific applications. The original Hawk tester covers a broad range of sizes and functionality, while the XLD specializes in Drill Pipe testing and larger casing sizes.
XLD Test System
- Designed and manufactured by Gator Hawk, the XLD test system is compact, fast and reliable.
- Originally designed to allow testing of drill pipe connections and tool joints, the XLD system is capable of testing all size ranges of OCTG from 1" thru 20" pipe sizes.
- Testing can be done with either water or gas.
- Only a 2 person crew is required for 24 hour operations.
- Compact size allows for rapid mobilization to anywhere in the world.
- Rig up time is less than 30 minutes
- Able to keep up with running times of 600 - 1000 ft per hour allowing for approximately one minute per connection test.
- Low test fluid volumes provide for safety during testing operations
- No tools to lose downhole
- No damage to Internal Coatings
