ISO-Gator Mill End Connection Test

Technology

  • Industry statistics have shown that approximately 70% to 80% of leaks in coupled connections occur in the mill end of the connection.
  • Most tube bodies have already been tested in the Mill; there is no need to repeat the full body mill test just to test the coupling connection.
  • This test is the most sensitive test available to the industry.
  • Testing can be done with either "Slick Water" or Nitrogen w/ Helium Tracer
  • Elimination of Self Energizing Effect provides a distinct advantage over other methods
  • Finds leaks other methods may not find, by testing to the lowest level of leak resistance
  • Smallest possible test fluid volume provides maximum sensitivity and detectability
  • Optional computerized pressure recording available Protected by US and Foreign Patents

Economy

  • Test can be conducted just after installation of the collar
  • Quickest method available to the industry. No additional waiting time to install test plugs or to fill up the pipe with water.
  • Mill End connections of a 10,000' pipe string can be tested with much less water than it takes to fill up a full joint of the same sized pipe. The same string can also be tested with very small volumes of gas, providing a savings on test fluids.
  • Uses a minimal amount of Gas during Gas Testing, no oversized gas accumulators
  • Minimize repairs due to casing connection leaks
  • Highly mobile for use anywhere in the world
  • No contact with or damage to pipe threads or internal coatings
  • No Test Plugs required to be rented or purchased, in some cases saving enough to pay for the ISOGator Mill End Test job.

Safety

  • Smallest test fluid volume, resulting in the lowest level of stored energy per test of any method offered by industry eliminating the "bomb" and "missile" effect of pressurizing the full tube.
  • Compact, lightweight and easiest tester to handle on the market, no large diesel power packs to worry about.
  • Minimal use of water, along with containment of water to substantially reduce slips and falls.
  • Handling of heavy and awkward test plugs is eliminated, helping to eliminate costly back injuries and smashed body parts.
  • No Tools or test plugs inside of tubulars to cause problems
