The BOP’s are well control components used during a well intervention.  There are two sets of sealing rams. One will seal when coil tubing is in the well (pipe ram, tubing ram).  The other ram is a blind ram that will seal when there is no tubing in the well.  In addition there are two other sets of rams.  The first being a shear ram that will cut the coil tubing and/or wireline.  The other set of rams is a set of slip rams that will grab and hold the coil tubing.  The two sealing rams are required for well control and the other two are designed so well control can be performed.

The EH BOP’s are an evolution of the EC BOP.  It is similar in design and but internal hydraulic porting eliminates the need for hose bridles.  The EH is offered in a wide variety of bore sizes and working pressures, which allow the EH to be applied to a wide variety of well service needs.  The EH model is similar in design to the EC series but internal hydraulic porting eliminates the need for hose bridles.  The rams available for the EC and EH are interchangeable.
