• Spread Mooring System

Spread Mooring System (SMS) is common used in either benign environments such as in Africa or Southeast Asia or in very deep waters found in Africa and Brazil. Many engineering contractors provide SMS arrangements; however, we provide the most complete and optimized spread mooring system.

We look at the complete arrangement of the following components:
    • Naval architecture: hull global strength (ULS and fatigue), hull local analysis, stability (stability book, inclination tests), accelerations and model scale testing
    • Spread mooring: anchors, mooring legs
    • Deck equipment: fairleads, winches
    • Riser arrangement and riser balcony
The most recent reference of an SMS in operation is a VLCC moored in 1,200 m of water, with exposure to a 100 year wave of 9.1 m Hs and a riser arrangement catered for 53 risers.
