United Way of Greater Houston engages caring people to improve lives and build a stronger community. Last year, the United Way of Greater Houston helped 2.4 million of our neighbors build better lives. More than 940,900 calls for help answered by the 2-1-1 Texas/United Way Helpline, 58,000 families put on a pathway to financial stability, and 420,000 young people helped to succeed in school and in life. Last year, United Way Bright Beginnings alumni performed better than or equal to their HISD peers on 81% of state and national exams.
