The vessels, scheduled for delivery in mid-2030 and first quarter of 2031, respectively, will become Cadeler’s tenth and eleventh GustoMSC-designed jack-up vessels, further strengthening the long-standing relationship between the two companies.
As offshore wind projects continue to move into deeper waters and turbine ratings increase, foundation dimensions and installation challenges are growing significantly. The T-Class design has been specifically developed to address these future requirements, enabling the installation of the next generation of ultra-large monopiles expected to enter the market over the coming decade. Designed to support heavier foundations and evolving project requirements, the T-Class sets a new benchmark for offshore wind foundation installation capability.
The newbuild vessels represent the third generation of the proven NG-20000X jack-up vessel design. Building on the success of Cadeler’s P-Class and A-Class vessels, the T-Class incorporates further enhancements driven by Cadeler’s extensive operational experience and NOV’s continuous innovation. Among these advancements is GustoMSC’s latest asymmetric rack-and-pinion jacking system technology, which boosts preload capabilities and improves operational performance. Together with increased crane capacity, these innovations ensure the vessels are equipped to meet the future demands of offshore wind installation.
The award confirms the successful collaboration among Cadeler, NOV, and COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry to deliver advanced offshore wind installation vessels that combine high standards of quality, reliability, and operational efficiency.
