Houston Reads Day is simple and meaningful. Volunteers spend time reading with elementary students, building confidence and encouraging a love of books. This year, our employees showed up ready to make a difference, giving their time and attention to young readers.

The impact is clear:

  • Students in the program improve their reading skills by an average of 90 percent

  • More than 12,000 books will reach students this year

  • Over 16,000 Pre-K through 5th grade students participated

Strong reading skills open doors early in life. By supporting Literacy Now, we help students build the foundation they need for the future while strengthening the communities where we live and work.

We are proud of our volunteers and grateful to be part of Houston Reads Day again this year. Reading together may seem like a small act, but it creates lasting impact.
