COVID-19

We're rising to the challenges resulting from the virus.

Clay Williams on COVID-19 Pandemic and Market Conditions

The impact of the global COVID-19 pandemic on operations and oil demand, coupled with an oversupply of oil, is unprecedented and daunting - even for an industry with a long and proud history of persevering through tough challenges. This may be the toughest challenge of our generation, but it will not break us. Those of us who keep the world supplied in energy embody grit and determination, and we will persevere once again.

We want you to know that while striving to keep employees healthy and safe, NOV is undertaking extraordinary efforts to meet your short- and long-term needs. We are doing everything in our power to continue to be here for you, providing the technology, equipment, and services needed to support your operations.

Over the decades, the oil and gas industry has achieved amazing advancements, which have enabled it to meet growing demand for energy for more than 160 years. Today we jointly continue that legacy of resourcefulness, practicality, and innovation. Standing together has always pulled us through tough times and will do so again. Hang in there.

Sincerely,

Clay Williams
Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer

Keeping our Employees, Customers, and Suppliers Safe

Though many of our working environments have been altered, our global family is taking precautions and staying connected.

Health and safety measures

  • Providing remote support to our customers to limit our footprint on their worksites
  • Equipping many of our employees to work from home
  • Monitoring and carefully evaluating employee travel as mandated by the CDC

For our employees whose work requires them to be onsite, we have implemented social distancing. We have also provided education about how they can protect themselves and their families by practicing good hygiene, limiting travel, and avoiding large gatherings. Staggered shop schedules, as well as rotating office schedules, allow us to continue operations with fewer people in our facility at the same time.

Communication with our global family

We activated Regional Crisis Communications Teams, comprised of representatives from Human Resources, Safety, Security, Legal, and Operations. These teams are responsible for

  • Monitoring government mandates and assessing the impact of these mandates and/or orders on our facilities and employees
  • Communicating region-wide announcements to our employees

We have also created an internal website to share resources and up-to-date information with our employees.
